Any new operating system has a better chance to take advantage of new technologies than its predecessor but upgrading a new OS can affect older PC’s. unfortunately, optimizing performance on older hardware is less important. with Windows8, many people are questioning about the effect of this upgradation on their older hardware.

Microsoft has declared Windows 8 to be ready for installation on any system that could handle Windows7. But running the new software in a system does not mean that it will work properly. though a touch mouse is used in Windows 8 as an upgradation but can it handle older PC system? the answer is yes, quite well.

When Windows 8 was tried out on many older systems, many differences were spotted down.  An experiment was carried out on a Dell laptop. with its Intel i5 CPU and 6 GB RAM, upgrading of Windows 7 to Windows 8 did not create any issue. Windows 8 was also installed on an Acer Aspire notebook and its 2.0 GHz Core 2 Duo CPU had no issues running Windows 8. there was a performance boost over Windows Vista and 2GB RAM proved to be plenty.  Another experiment carried out on HP Compaq NX6110 notebook which was running on Windows XP. After installation of Windows 8, its boot time improved tremendously and made the whole system quite responsive. Windows 8 ran smoothly even with its 1 GB RAM and 1.86 GHz Pentium M processor. And it was more impressive when HP’s Broadcom Wireless Card was detected and installed automatically.

The Windows 8 improved system performance is  far better than any old versed systems. Substantial changes were also made under the hood for more improvements of the OS so that they have no issues in running over hardwares built as early as 2005. Microsoft gained such a performance efficiency and boost for the first time after many generations of OS.
